Is InvoiceFree really free?+
Yes. All core features — unlimited invoices, all 10 templates, PDF export, client management, recurring invoices, analytics, and more — are completely free. The only paid option is a Pro plan ($9/month) that removes ads.
Do I need to create an account?+
No. You can create, preview, and export invoices without signing up. All data is saved in your browser automatically. Create an account only if you want to sync invoices across multiple devices.
How do I export my invoice as a PDF?+
Click the "Download PDF" button in the invoice builder toolbar. Your browser will download the file directly — no server processing required. If the invoice is marked as paid, the button changes to "Download Receipt" instead.
Can I customize the invoice templates?+
Yes. Every label on an invoice is editable — click any label in the live preview to rename it. You can also show or hide sections (header, addresses, line items, notes, etc.) and reorder them using the template customizer.
How many currencies are supported?+
InvoiceFree supports 150+ currencies. The last currency you used is remembered and pre-selected for your next invoice. You can change the default currency in Settings → Defaults.
Can I set up recurring invoices?+
Yes. In the invoice builder, enable the Recurring section to set a frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) and a start date. The app will alert you when a recurring invoice is due.
What happens to my data if I clear my browser?+
Local data lives in your browser's localStorage. Clearing browser data will delete it. To prevent data loss, create a free account to enable cloud sync — your invoices will be backed up to the cloud and restored on any device you log in to.
Can I send invoices by email?+
Yes. From the invoice builder, click Share → Send by email. Enter the recipient's email address and the invoice details will be sent as a formatted HTML email.
How does payment tracking work?+
Scroll to the Payment Records section in the invoice builder to add partial or full payments. The app tracks the amount paid, the remaining balance, and automatically marks the invoice as "paid" when the balance reaches zero.
Does InvoiceFree support multiple languages?+
The app interface is available in English, Traditional Chinese (繁體中文), Simplified Chinese (简体中文), and Hong Kong Chinese (香港中文). Use the globe icon in the header to switch languages.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?+
Go to Settings → Billing and click "Manage Subscription". This opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel, update payment details, or view invoices. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Is there a mobile app?+
InvoiceFree is a responsive web app that works well on mobile browsers. There is no native iOS or Android app currently.
